Selling MGO Board in Europe: Intended Use, ETA, DoP and CE Questions

European buyers normally begin with intended use: lining, sheathing, floor, façade substrate or another system component. That intended use determines the characteristics that must be assessed and declared. A generic test report for “MGO board” is not a substitute for a product-specific route.

Prepare the document map

Where the product is not fully covered by a harmonised standard, a European Technical Assessment route may be relevant. The resulting declaration and CE-marking route, where used, must refer to the assessed product and intended use. Country and project requirements still influence building acceptance.

Typical buyer requests

  • Product identification, composition and factory-control information
  • Reaction-to-fire classification and, where relevant, fire-resistance system reports
  • Dimensional, moisture, mechanical and durability characteristics
  • Installation instructions in the required language
  • Declared scope, limitations and compatible system components

UK requirements and individual European markets should be checked separately at the time of supply.
